Confident! A Christian Perspective pt2
Let’s be honest—most of us have, at some point, tried to fake it 'til we make it. We put on the smile, the strong front, the polished version of ourselves, hoping it’ll eventually feel real. But what if I told you that true confidence was never meant to be about you in the first place?
In this episode of the podcast, I dig into the difference between worldly confidence and biblical confidence—and I share a pretty funny story about my Samsung refrigerator along the way. (Yes, it makes a point. And yes, it still cracks me up.) But beyond the humor, there’s a deeper message: real confidence doesn’t come from being the smartest, the strongest, or the most admired. It comes from knowing who you belong to and where your strength comes from.
I’ve had my own struggles with insecurity, especially in ministry leadership. There were times I felt like I wasn’t enough, didn’t have what it takes, or couldn’t measure up to expectations. But the more I leaned into Scripture—particularly passages like Hebrews 10 and Psalm 27—the more I realized that confidence rooted in God’s character and promises is the only kind that holds steady when life shakes.
In the episode, I also reflect on my experience leading a multi-campus church and how it exposed some of those hidden confidence traps. It’s easy to start basing your worth on performance, results, or public perception—but that kind of confidence is fragile. Instead, I challenge you to embrace a God-given confidence that’s not based on what you do but on who He is.
So if you’re tired of pretending, striving, or wondering if you’re enough—take 30 minutes and listen in. I believe this message will encourage you, challenge you, and hopefully make you laugh just enough to remember: confidence in Christ changes everything.
